Kedarnath nestled amidst the majestic Garhwal Himalayas, is one of the holiest Hindu shrines. Located at an elevation of 3,583 meters, it is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, the holiest Shiva temples in India.The Kedarnath Temple, built with grey stones, is believed to have been constructed by the Pandavas themselves. The winters here are harsh, so the temple is open only between April (Akshaya Tritiya) and November (Kartik Purnima). During winters, the idol of Lord Shiva is moved to Ukhimath.
Badrinath is one of the four cardinal shrines (Char Dham) in India, located in the Garhwal Himalayas. It is situated on the banks of the Alaknanda River, at an elevation of 3,133 m (10,276 ft) above sea level. The shrine is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and is one of the most revered pilgrimage sites for Hindus.
Day 1 : Haridwar to Gupthkashi
- Starting Journey from Haridwar in the early morning 8am to Gupthkashi by TT/Minibus (depending on group size, Breakfast on own expenses )
- After breakfast, Proceed to Devprayag, witness where the two holy rivers, Alaknanda and Bhagirathi, join together to form the Ganges River.
- Continue journey to dhari devi temple ( on the way lunch break by own expenses )
- Start journey to Guptakashi and Check into your hotel and relax for the evening.
- Spend the night overnight at hotel in Guptakashi.
Day 2 : Gupthkashi to Gaurikund and Kedarnath
- Early morning,Pre-dawn, embark on the pilgrimage to Kedarnath. Journey from Gupthkashi to Sonpryag, the gateway to the holy abode. ( Entry process and Jeep ride to gourikund, Jeep fair by own )
- From Gaurikund, either trek or take a pony/horse ride to Kedarnath. The trek is about 20 kms and takes approximately 6-7 hours.
- If you are not comfortable trekking, you can opt for a helicopter service from Gaurikund to Kedarnath. ( Pre booking only )
- Upon reaching Kedarnath, check into your guesthouse and spend the rest of the day exploring the temple complex and surroundings.
Day 3 : Kedarnath and Sonprayag
- Wake up early and visit the Kedarnath Temple, one of the holiest Hindu shrines.
- After performing darshan and puja rituals, visit the Shankaracharya Samadhi, located behind the temple.
- Later, start your descent from Kedarnath to Gaurikund. If you took a pony/horse ride up, you can use the same mode of transport for the descent as well.
- From Gaurikund, take a shared taxi or jeep back to Sonprayag. Spend the night at hotel in Sonprayag.
Day 4 : Sonprayag to Badrinath
- After breakfast check-out from the hotel and start journey
- embark on your journey to Badrinath, another holy Hindu dham.
- On the way, you can stop at Joshimath, also known as Winter Badrinath, where the temple is shifted to during the winter months.
- Upon reaching Badrinath, check into your hotel and spend the rest of the day exploring the temple complex and surrounding markets.
- visit the Badrinath Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu.
- Later, you can visit Mana Village, the last village on the border of India and China. You can also visit Vyas Gufa, where Ved Vyasa is believed to have composed the Mahabharata.
- In the evening, attend the Aarti ceremony at the Badrinath Temple.
- Spend the night at your hotel in Badrinath.
Day 5: Badrinath to Rishikesh
- After breakfast, check out from your hotel and proceed to Rishikesh, the "Yoga Capital of the World".
- Upon reaching Rishikesh, check into your hotel and spend some time at leisure.
Day 6: Rishikesh ( Grace day )
( Any unexpected or climate change, only stay is included )
- You can indulge in adventure activities like bungee jumping or white water rafting on the Ganges River.
- Make sure to book your spot in advance for bungee jumping as it is a popular activity.
- In the Evening attend the Ganga Aarti ceremony at Har ki Pauri. Witness the mesmerizing spectacle of hundreds of diyas (earthen lamps) being offered to the Ganges river as a prayer.
- visit Mansa Devi Temple, perched atop the Bilwa Parvat. You can take a ropeway or trek up the hill to reach the temple. Enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding area from the temple complex (if time Permits)
- In the evening, attend the Ganga Aarti ceremony at Rishikesh/Haridwar and witness the mesmerizing display of lights and chants.This will mark the end of your spiritual and adventurous Trip with life time memories.( Dinner on own expenses )
